The 7 Chakras for Beginners & How to Unblock them to Let Your Energy Flow

Energy flows through everything and everyone. You are made of energy and you have 7 major energy centers called Chakras. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit meaning “wheel”. They are an ancient, complex, energy system originating in India. They were first mentioned in the Vedas dating back to 1500 to 1000 BC.

When your chakras are aligned and open energy flows freely though your body helping you maintain health in your mind, body and spirit. When the chakras are blocked energy cannot flow freely and this can sometimes lead to dis-ease within the physical body. Each chakra has a specific energy, element, color and mantra.

The first chakra is your Root Chakra (or Muladhara) which is located at the base of your spine. This chakra represents the feeling of being grounded and connected to Mother Earth. The color is red, the element is Earth and the mantra is LAAM. If it is blocked one can feel unstable or threatened.

The seventh is your Crown Chakra. It is the highest chakra located at the top of your head it represents your connection to Divine. The color is white or violet, the element is Divine Consciousness and the mantra is OMM. If it is blocked one may be stubborn or narrow minded. When it is open it helps keep all the other chakras open and can bring a state of bliss or enlightenment.

To Open Your Chakras:

To open your chakras imagine energy flowing from the center of Mother Earth to your Base chakra then flowing through all the chakras. See the energy spinning in each chakra as a ball of light that is the corresponding color for each chakra. See it flicked with crystals so it sparkles and repeat the corresponding mantra if you like.

Energy flows to each chakra and from each chakra to the next one connecting them. It also flows out the front and back of each chakra. When you get to your crown chakra see the energy coming out the top of your head flowing into the Universe connecting with the Divine.

When your Chakras are open and the energy is spinning freely through them you can move through life with more health, purpose, grace and ease.
