Forgiveness can sometimes be a difficult thing but not forgiving can be even more difficult in the long run. Not forgiving creates negative energy in our being which has an impact on one’s life. Society may tell us in many different ways not to forgive.
Society tells us to punish the perpetrator, to hold on to the anger we feel and to seek revenge and get back at the person who we feel has wronged us. These societal beliefs are wrong. Some people think of forgiveness as a sign of weakness but the truth is not forgiving weakens us, forgiving strengthens us.
Not forgiving and holding onto anger is like carrying excess baggage around all day long. It will weigh us down if we don’t let it go. It takes a lot of energy, both mentally and emotionally, to hold on to that baggage. Letting go of the negativity that not forgiving someone creates is freeing, we feel lighter when that energy is released. It actually takes much less energy to forgive.
Holding on to the negativity damages us more than it harms the person we can’t forgive. In reality the person being harmed is the one who cannot forgive. Not forgiving is like drinking poison and thinking the other person will die from it. The other person isn’t harmed by the poison we are. It’s important to let negativity go for our own well being.
Sometimes not being able to forgive another may mean a person hasn’t forgiven themselves for past wrongs. Forgiving oneself is a must if we want to experience more good in our life. If we have feelings of guilt or sadness in our mind it could be a sign that we need to resolve some issues within ourselves. We must forgive ourselves for past mistakes for if we don’t feelings of unworthiness will block us from receiving all this glorious life has to offer.
Often the most difficult things to forgive bring us the greatest lessons and gifts. Often the people that hurt us agreed before they came to this life to be the bad guy so we can experience all that we came here to experience. They loved us enough to be the villain so we could embrace the true greatness of who we are.
Forgiveness allows us to live in our natural state of being which is love, wholeness and happiness Forgive everyone and everything completely and you will be able to move forward in life. Forgiveness helps us experience the truth of who we. The truth is we are; Divine Love, Eternal Peace, Absolute Abundance, Pure Joy and Infinite Intelligence.
Let that truth flow to you, let it be a guiding light, let it be revealed in all you do..
