Meditate
“Half an hour’s meditation each day is essential, except when you are busy. Then a full hour is needed.” Saint Francis de Sales
Meditation is one of the greatest tools you can use to create well-being in your life. Establish a meditation practice daily. It can relieve stress, quiet the mind, relax the body, focus attention, center you so you can make better decisions and put you in touch with the spiritual Reality of life.
Many people find a deeper connection to Source, a deeper connection to themselves, to their inner knowing and a deeper connection to the world around them.
Meditation will help clear your mind and master your thoughts. As you meditate you let go of the ego, you let go of the chatter in your mind, or monkey mind as I call it, and you tap into the Creative Intelligence of the Universe. From that Source everything flows to you and through you.
There is a depth of wisdom, love, strength, creativity and power within you that you may not even be aware you have. Meditation taps into all those things and helps you reach a fuller expression of who you are meant to be.
There are many ways to meditate. I began by staring at the flame on a candle. I also listened to guided meditations. Some find mediating to music or sounds of nature helpful. When you begin find a time and place that you can practice daily.
You can meditate any time or place you want but to establish the same time and place in the beginning will help you establish your practice. I meditate before I even get out of bed. This allows me to capture those precious moments before thoughts of the day come into mind.
Try different approaches to meditation to see what works for you. In the beginning you may only be able to meditate 10 minutes and that is fine. Like exercise it takes practice, consistency and dedication to improve your ability and see the desired results. Stay with it, you will find it easier and you will be able to stay with it longer. 20-30 minutes daily can make a big difference.
Be gentle with yourself but be persistent. Write your thoughts after you meditate as often as you can. Meditation often opens people up to receive new insights. Words and ideas often flow easily when you are centered.
A great way to start your practice is to find a quiet place where you will undisturbed, close your eyes, breathe in deeply and let your body relax with each out breath. Imagine light flowing into you with each in breath. Continue to relax your body and let any tension or stress melt away. Imagine the light coming from the Universe and filling your body as if you were a bottle. Let the light flow through the top of your head all the way down to your toes then visualize it filling you up from your toes to your feet, to your ankles, shins, knees, thighs, body, chest, imagine the light flowing down your arms into your elbows, hands, fingers, then back up your to shoulders, your neck, your face, see it filling you right up to the top of our head then see it shoot out your hair and cascade down all around you encircling you in a bubble of light. See yourself immersed and surrounded in this beautiful light. If your mind starts to wander that’s okay just go back to your breath and continue to fill yourself with light and relax with each breath. Hold this vision knowing this light is the truth of who you are.
Practice makes perfect so keep practicing. You will find that stress, which causes dis-ease within the body, will be relieved and you will feel a sense of peace. As you continue your practice wisdom will flow to you in the form of insights and ideas.
You will also strengthen your connection to the Source of All that Is. You will begin to uncover the truth of who you are. The truth is; you are Divine Love, Absolute Abundance, Pure Joy, Eternal Peace, and Creative Intelligence. You are perfect, whole and complete right here, right now!
The more you practice meditation the more you will raise your vibration and your life will begin to flow with the current. You no longer struggle against the current. You begin to enjoy the ride as you glide down the river of life easily and effortlessly. No matter what you experience you handle the ebb and flow of life with ease.
You will also tap into a reservoir of love, wisdom, strength and power that is unlimited. The wisdom from within will guide you to follow the path and open the doors that are meant for you. Mediation is good for your body, mind and soul! Build a practice and you can reduce stress and increase wellness in your life.
